We know you have questions, so that’s why we made this page. Is Pop Zero peanut free? What makes Pop Zero so delicious? Where have you been all my life? All of these questions and more can be found below.
Pop Zero is gluten-free and vegan. However, we are not kosher certified.
Algae oil and algal flour are ingredients derived from algae. We use algae because it’s the healthiest and most sustainable oil on the market. The algae is grown in a fermentation tank, and then pressed to make oil and milled to make flour. The algal flour gives our popcorn a buttery flavor without all the saturated fat in butter.
For a small percentage of consumers, algal flour can cause nausea, vomiting, and/or gastrointestinal distress. These individuals most likely have a sensitivity to algal flour, and they should avoid consuming products containing this ingredient.
Algae is a renewable food source with a remarkably high crop yield. It’s vegan, and high in monounsaturated fat. We use algae oil because a healthier, more sustainable product simply doesn’t exist.
We’re dedicated to keeping our popcorn clean and free of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). While it’s true that most corn in the United States is GMO, the type of seed used for popcorn is different and has not been genetically modified.
Our popcorn is fresh for 8 months from the date of packaging. If it’s been in your pantry uneaten for that long… you might want to clean out your pantry.
Seriously. So say goodbye to greasy fingers, and say hello to less than 155 calories (and all the flavor that comes with it).
At this time, we are not pursuing organic certification. Let us know if you think we should!
Yes! Pop Zero is made in a peanut-free, treenut-free facility, so more people can enjoy the goodness.
All our popcorn starts with 4 simple ingredients: popcorn, sea salt, algae oil, and algal four. From there, the ingredients vary slightly depending on the flavor.
If we tell you then it won’t be a secret anymore, but we can tell you there’s a clue hidden on each bag.
Check out our store locations. If you can’t make it to a store, you can purchase all our flavors on our website!
